Welcome to Stochastic Systems Lab. in the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering at POSTECH.

Our mission is to develop efficient and effective methodologies for the analysis and optimization of large-scale stochastic systems. Research topics include but are not limited to

• Queueing Theory and Stochastic Processes,

• Stochastic Simulation,

• Time Series Foundation Model and its applications in manufacturing,

• Graph-based personalized inference and recommendation model,

• Optimization under uncertainty with pre-trained models,

• Reliability and Data-Driven Quality Control

POSTECH 산업경영공학과 확률시스템 연구실(LST Lab.)에 오신 것을 환영합니다.

LST Lab.에서는 불확실성을 내포하고 있는 시스템의 성능분석 및 최적운영에 관한 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 연구주제는 다음과 같습니다.

• 2025/10/02 Donghyun Lee and Prof. Ko's work entitled "Learning-driven berth allocation optimization with port authority behavior" was accepted for publication in IEEE Access.

• 2025/09/04 Prof. Ko's collaboration work with Prof. Jin Xu (Huazhong Univ. of Science and Technology) entitled "Overlap approximation schemes in time-varying many-server queues" was accepted for publication in Annals of Operations Research.

• 2025/09/01 Prof. Ko was appointed Department Head of Industrial and Management Engineering.

• 2025/07/16 Prof. Ko's collaboration work with Prof. Stephane Barde (Hanyang Univ.) and Prof. Hayong Shin (KAIST) entitled "Overcoming the curse of dimension of the optimal group maintenance policy of a heterogeneous multi-component series system" was accepted for publication in OR Spectrum.

• 2025/10/02 이동현 박사과정과 고영명 교수가 연구한 "Learning-driven berth allocation optimization with port authority behavior" 논문이 IEEE Access 저널에 게재 승인됨

• 2025/09/04 고영명 교수, 화중과기대 Jin Xu 교수와 공동연구한 "Overlap approximation schemes in time-varying many-server queues" 논문이 경영과학 분야 우수 학술지인 Annals of Operations Research 저널(Q1, IF 4.5, 21.2%)에 게재 승인됨

• 2025/09/01 고영명 교수, 산업경영공학과 주임교수로 취임함
