Welcome to Stochastic Systems Lab. in the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering at POSTECH.

Our mission is to develop efficient and effective methodologies for the analysis and optimization of large-scale stochastic systems. Research topics include but are not limited to

• Queueing Theory and Stochastic Processes,

• Stochastic Simulation,

• Time Series Foundation Model and its applications,

• Optimization under uncertainty with pre-trained models,

• Reliability and Data-Driven Quality Control,

LST Lab.에서는 불확실성을 내포하고 있는 시스템의 성능분석 및 최적운영에 관한 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 연구주제는 다음과 같습니다.

• 2025/06/02 Prof. Ko received the Transactions Service Award from IISE. 

• 2025/05/20 Prof. Ko's collaboration work with Prof. Soondo Hong (Pusan National Univ.) and Thao Huong Tran-Vo (Pusan National Univ.) entitled "The benefits of a dual-lane zone picking system with buffer-free conveyor lanes: An analytical approach" was accepted for publication in Computers & Industrial Engineering.

• 2025/04/15 Prof. Ko's collaboration work with Prof. Jin Xu (Huazhong Univ. of Science and Technology) and Prof. Jamol Pender (Cornell University) entitled "Queueing Management for Reducing the Overlaps of Customers in Service Systems" was accepted for publication in OR Spectrum.

• 2025/02/20 Prof. Ko was appointed vice-chair of the INFORMS Telecommunications and Network Analytics Section.

• 2025/06/02 고영명 교수, 미국산업시스템공학회(IISE)로부터 Transactions Service Award를 수상함
